Tel Aviv University is the start-up campus, ranked #9 in the world for the number of alumni going on to become successful entrepreneurs. (Haaretz, September 1, 2014).

TAU Law Law is home to a vibrant, innovative and dedicated academic community. We educate the top echelon of the legal profession and strengthen Israeli society by producing socially engaged, legally skilled, and policy savvy graduates.

Our Faculty encourages independent thinking and prepares students to succeed in a dynamic environment while serving as community and business leaders. Our alumni hold senior positions in the country’s leading law firms, the judiciary, the political arena, and the fields of journalism and business. They are a driving force in shaping the future of legal practice in Israel.

The Faculty’s proximity to leading law firms, NGOs, political leaders and the business world (including high-tech startup centers) creates close ties that enrich our students’ experience. Lawyers and judges teach specialized courses, participate in workshops and alumni events, and seek out our students for internships, job opportunities and additional collaborations.

TAU Law is part of a comprehensive research university that plays a key role in the Startup Nation, integrally connected to Israel’s innovative high-tech, cyber, bio-medical, energy and defense sectors. The Faculty offers strong interdisciplinary groups in fields such as intellectual property, legal history, law and economics, Jewish law and political and moral philosophy. We collaborate with departments in the Social Sciences, Humanities and Management in both research and teaching.

Faculty members are sought-after as commentators and advisors on the legal challenges Israel faces with respect to a host of social issues, including legal aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the position of religion in the Jewish state, the allocation of natural resources, welfare, immigration regulation, health, and education policy.

The Faculty’s cutting-edge Clinical Legal Education Program is the largest, most innovative and most comprehensive in Israel. It confronts students with real life clients and challenges, exposing them to policy issues as well as to the exciting world of Israeli NGOs. The clinics engage Faculty members, clinical lawyers and approximately 150 law students each year in a variety of programs that serve some of the neediest and most disadvantaged groups in Israel.

When it comes to legal theory and doctrine, we have earned a reputation as an intellectual powerhouse. Our Faculty members regularly publish articles in top-ranking law reviews and peer-reviewed journals, as well as books in the world’s most prestigious university presses.

TAU Law currently hosts 10 research centers and institutes. Our flagship journal – Theoretical Inquiries in Law (TIL), is the top-ranking law review outside the USA according to the Washington and Lee ranking: Over the last 20 years, the Faculty has risen to the top of the law school rankings as the best law school in Israel and among the best worldwide. Our research output has been ranked by the QS 2013 annual rankings as number one outside the US and UK for scientific research impact and citations – a key indicator of the high quality of our scholarship.
